After announcing the foundation of a new distillery on Islay, Portintruan, Sukhinder Singh and Rajbir Singh (the masterminds behind the well-known shop The Whisky Exchange) announced an agreement with Pernod Ricard to purchase the Tormore distillery on Speyside.
This move is part of a broader pattern by both companies, which have engaged in several financial moves in recent times: the two brothers had sold their businesses (including Whisky.Auction and London Cocktail Week) to Pernod Ricard, and the latter had recently announced the expansion of Aberlour and Miltonduff.
The distillery, established in 1960 and owned by Pernod Ricard since 2005, will pass under the new owners with all the stock in the warehouses.
