The Lowlands are experiencing a second youth, reaping the benefits of a global rediscovery of whisky that is leading to the foundation of new distilleries, in Scotland as well as around the world.

It's #throwbackthursday and let's go back to these bottlings that don't get the attention they deserve.

Like many distilleries, Teeling offers a bottling that can only be purchased on site (or in their online shop), now in its fourth year.

There's nothing better after a nice bath than a good dram of whisky.

The penultimate representative of the Scottish bottler's Spring releases, this time I'm featuring a single cask from Loch Lomond, echoing the name once used by the distillery for the peated version of its whisky.

Those who claim with absolute certainty that low-alcohol whiskies are not very good, may have missed this absolute gem.

Last of the samples of the whiskies-non-whiskies sent to me by the Danish bottler, a bottle from the Novels series which represents the most daring and unconventional taste profiles of these spirits.
