Here I am with the spring 2025 releases from the Scottish bottler Dràm Mòr, with a distillery that always delivers great satisfaction in its single casks.

203 cask strength bottles from a refill ex-bourbon hogshead cask in which it spent all sixteen years of maturation.

Tasting Notes

And immediately we are transported to the tropics with hints of pineapple, mango, lychee and lime on the nose, accompanied by peach, ripe apple and apricot jam. But fruit alone is not enough, so there is also a pastry base (vanilla, lemon cream, sponge cake), marzipan, toffee, honey and cinnamon, with a hint of beeswax, like wood polish. It remains fresh and caressing over time, with hay added to the length. Inviting.

Warm and enveloping on the palate, rather dry with a distinct spiciness (black pepper, ginger, cinnamon) on fruity and vegetal notes, sharper than on the nose. Marzipan, sugar paste and lemon zest dominate the sweet side (honey, vanilla, trifle), with propolis and tea leaves setting the pace. Lavender oil on the finish.

Quite a long and dry finish of black pepper, marzipan, lemon, honey and vegetal notes.

A naked, direct, no-frills whisky that maintains an enviable freshness at the expense of complexity. Easy to drink and balanced, one of those bottles that you finish in company without even noticing.
