Part of the Connoisseurs Choice line, with 165 bottles produced in March 2024, here is a single cask from Tamnavulin, a distillery not exactly in the forefront but curiously enough one of the most sought after in blog articles.
And since the People dictate the line, who am I not to oblige?

Tasting Notes

Initially pungent alcohol on the nose, which gathers fruity evocations between yellow fruit (peach, apricot, apple) and tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, grapefruit, coconut) with incursions of lime. A perceptible vegetal and floral part accompanies the primary notes with hay, green tea and jasmine, with subtle hints of white chocolate, honey and almonds. The addition of water balances the alcoholic exuberance, giving more voice to the floral and vegetal notes.
On the palate, the warmth of the alcohol content is well present, with a discreet spicy charge of pepper, ginger and a hint of aniseed, rediscovering the fruity compartment of the nose with a good creaminess. The vegetal part is always present, to which is added a somewhat pushed mineral vein with some saline touches along the length. A dash of water carries forward the notes of white chocolate and nuts.
The finish is quite long and dry of white fruit, nuts (almonds, walnuts), spices (white pepper, aniseed), vegetal and mineral notes with saline tips.

This single cask also confirms my impression of a distillate with little personality that easily surrenders to the casks, showing itself succumbing to the cask strength with little grace.
