This is a special limited edition made for the Netherlands in spring 2021, which is intended to be slightly reminiscent of the distillery’s famous 105 as it was made in the 1970s (having never tried it, I take it on faith).
Classic maturation all in Oloroso Sherry for an unspecified amount of time, the result of the selection of a few casks (small batch), for obvious reasons not available everywhere but of which I managed to get a sample thanks to my secret contacts in the Great Whisky Community to which only a select few belong! (thank you, Ralf).

Tasting notes

A tasty trifle emerges from the glass, enriched with prunes, vanilla berries, caramel syrup and malt. Very mellow and warm, without the slightest alcoholic smear, with sultanas, chocolate, cinnamon and a hint of coffee on the length. Greedy.
It is on the palate that the alcohol shows its muscles, with a very decisive but not overbearing entry that chaperones sherried notes of black cherries in spirit, prunes, dried apricots, marzipan, malted biscuits and chocolate. Bitterness in the background, with aniseed seeds mixed with wood spices and a slight saline note along the length.
Fairly long, dry finish of marzipan, chocolate, aniseed, prunes, sultanas, malt.

A fine balance between alcohol and the influence of the casks, which may be a little wobbly on the palate but does not lose its rudder, managing to steer into the reassuring bay of a classic expression of the distillery. Classy entertainment without excess or praise, what you call a solid dram.
