We have only just entered Spring and already the first previews of Diageo’s Special Releases to be released around October this year are blossoming.
There is still very little information, the most noticeable being the new change of theme in the labels, which this year seems to have no common thread as much as very picturesque illustrations related to ageing rather than distilleries as in the last releases.
But let’s find out what is known so far about these seven bottlings:

Clynelish 10yo: matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, at 57.5%ABV.

Glenkinchie 27yo: American second-fill casks and European butts, at 58.3%ABV.

Lagavulin 12yo: maturation in ex-tequila Don Julio Añejo casks, AT 56.4%abv.

Mortlach: also this year without age declaration, ex-Japanese whisky Kanosuke and ex-Pinot Noir casks, at 58%ABV.

Oban 11yo: matured in ex-Caribbean rum pot still casks, at 58%ABV.

Roseisle 12yo: a ‘mule’ distillery from Elgin that has for the first time the honour of a bottling, first and second-fill ex-bourbon casks, at 56.5%ABV.

Singleton of Glendullan 14yo: matured in ex Chardonnay de Bourgonge barrels, at 55%ABV.
