After talking about the version aged in stout, we tackle the brother who spent fifteen months in casks that contained amber ale.
As with the previous one, this is an exchange with Dot Brew, a craft brewery with which Teeling runs a back-and-forth of casks: those former Teeling’s that go to them to age the beer and then return to their headquarters to age the small batch.
Blend 25% with malt and 75% with corn, which spent at least five years in ex-Bourbon casks before passing through the beer-soaked woods.

Tasting notes

Triumph of cereals on the nose, intensely herbaceous with fruit grafts (pineapple, apple, pear), anise, marzipan, albedo (the white of citrus peel). Spicy touches of wood. Young and pungent.
In the mouth it enters with a good mottling of pepper and ginger on a fairly oily and fresh body, where cereal and herbaceous scents still dominate even though the soul is softened by white fruit with honey, vanilla and nuts. Propolis and brown sugar.
Not very long finish of cereals, honey, vanilla, citrus veins.

Not a very complex dram, the influence of the beer accentuates the youthful aspects of the whiskey making it a bit flat and predictable. Fresh and drinkable, a marriage of similarities that enhances without enriching.
