I return to the Single Farm Origin series, with whiskies distilled from barley grown by a specific farmer, in this case Robert Milne, thus giving ample credit to the influence of the territory (terroir) on the final product.

Harvest of 2015 distilled the following year, which spent four years of maturation divided between ex-Bourbon barrels (Jack Daniel’s), American virgin barrels, ex-Sherry Oloroso and ex-French Wine, bottled in 2020 in 9,000 bottles.

Tasting notes

Gold in the glass.
The influence of the wine is evident on the nose, with hints of must and grapes prominent on wild strawberry, raspberry, lychees, lime and lemon, with an iron background vein. Digging, you can also perceive a veil of vanilla and sugar paste. Sweet and sour.
Sharper on the palate, with an enveloping warmth with a pleasant pepper that supports fruity hints of red fruits with peach, pineapple, hazelnut, ginger, cereals, lemon. Still a hint of iron background vein, but much less present.
Quite long finish of hazelnut, peach, lemon, cereals.

A particular and demanding sense of smell corresponds to a more ordinary and banal palate that leaves a little disappointed, while remaining largely on the level of pleasantness.
