The second bottling of the Scottish bottler’s Spring release, and after Ben Nevis we are still in the Highlands with a distillery much loved by independents.
268 cask strength bottles from a 2008 distillate that first spent twelve years and two months in an ex-Bourbon refill cask and then matured for eight months in a first fill barrel from Buffalo Trace.

Tasting notes

Caressing wood spice on the nose, enveloping fruity impressions (peach, apple, pineapple, pear) with vanilla, marshmallow, meringues, a drop of lemon. A profile that’s sweet and fresh at the same time, with a subtle waxy background note that lends a certain elegance.
The palate is nice and crisp, with an alcohol content that tingles just right without overdoing it, taking up the thread of fruity evocations with a more citrusy (blond orange, lemon) and less sweet mark. Touches of ginger and vanilla, nuts, with impressions of oak along the length.
Medium-long finish of nuts, vanilla, apple, wood.

A very classic whisky, a relaxing and pleasant dram perfect to accompany a temperate Spring evening, without smearing and with the pleasure of being ‘simply’ solid.
